Along with the beech forests, numerous remains of mountain worship can be seen. The oldest ruins in Omi include the Rokujizo, or six Jizo statues, the Gyuzome no Iwa, and the ruins of Chishokuji, the head temple of the seven temples on Mt. At the ruins of Chisoku-ji, visitors can still see traces of the temple through the stone pagoda. The Buddhist statues of the abandoned temples are enshrined in the Mikao Pavilion at the foot of the mountain.
